Walter Foddis is Intransition's rhythm guitarist.
Walter imagines he will be a clinical psychologist some day, as soon as they
let him out of the institution. He also imagines himself to be songwriter.
What influences his music the most are people with single-syllable first
names, like Bruce (Springsteen & Hornsby), Paul (McCartney & Hewson), and
John (Mellencamp & Hiatt). One aspect of the band's songwriting has Jen
singing to Walter an intriguing melody to which he strums some workable
chords and rhythms. Sometimes he gets carried away and gets chord-happy!
Another method involves Walter playing an unfinished song that Jen carefully
weaves together, sewing up the loose threads. We're presently attempting to
write songs as a band.
In the band, Walter plays rhythm guitar and fakes harmony. In the studio, he
likes to add things like keyboard and guitar accompaniments. He used to play
in a folk-rock band in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, called "Strange
Things Happen to Walter." If you catch him off-stage, you can ask him about
these weird happenings. One is more strange than the next and they often
involve vehicles.
